However, use of social media also presents certain risks and carries with it certain responsibilities. To assist you in making responsible decisions about your use of social media, we have established these guidelines for appropriate use of social media.

  • GUIDELINES

In the rapidly expanding world of electronic communication, social media can mean many things. Social media includes all means of communicating or posting information or content of any sort on the Internet, including to your own or someone else’s web log or blog, journal or diary, personal web site, social networking or affinity web site, web bulletin board or a chat room, whether or not associated or affiliated with Fortune International Group, as well as any other form of electronic communication.

The same principles and guidelines found in Fortune International Group policies and three basic beliefs, detailed below, apply to your activities online. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for what you post online. Before creating online content, consider some of the risks and rewards that are involved. Keep in mind that any of your conduct that adversely affects your job performance, the performance of coworkers or otherwise adversely affects members, customers, suppliers, people who work on behalf of Fortune International Group’s or worksites legitimate business interests may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

    Be respectful

Examples of such conduct might include offensive posts meant to intentionally harm someone’s reputation or posts that could contribute to a hostile work environment on the basis of race, sex, color, genetic information, religion, disability, age or any other status protected by law or company policy.

    Be honest and accurate

This prohibition includes all acts of harassment, including harassment that is based on an individual’s sex, color, race, national origin, religion, genetic information, disability, age, or any characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

All threats of (or actual) violence, both direct and indirect, should be reported as soon as possible to your immediate supervisor or any other member of management. This includes threats by employees, as well as threats by customers, vendors, solicitors, or other members of the public. When reporting a threat of violence, you should be as specific and detailed as possible.

All suspicious individuals or activities should also be reported as soon as possible to a supervisor. Do not place yourself in peril. If you see or hear a commotion or disturbance near your workstation, do not try to intercede or see what is happening.

Fortune International Group will promptly and thoroughly investigate all reports of threats of (or actual) violence and of suspicious individuals or activities. In order to maintain workplace safety and the integrity of its investigation, Fortune International Group may suspend employees, either with or without pay, pending investigation.

Anyone determined to be responsible for threats of (or actual) violence or other conduct that is in violation of these guidelines will be subject to prompt disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Fortune International Group encourages employees to bring their disputes or differences with other employees to the attention of their supervisors or Human Resources before the situation escalates into potential violence. Fortune International Group is eager to assist in the resolution of employee disputes, and will not discipline employees for raising such concerns.
